number years was a Vice President of a teacher's
union in the American Federation of Teachers.
Unions are a vital part
of our economic, educational,
recreational and governmental
systems. They provide their members
with contracts, protections,
insurance and methods of bringing to
light mismanagement by students,
parents, administrators and fellow workers. They came into being
during the industrial revolution as
a result of mistreatment by
educational, political
and corporate leaders as well as the
the corporations themselves. Today
the need for Unions has not
diminished with the growth of anti-labor pro-business organizations
and influencers. Many are trying to
bully workers, limit
pay raises, increase hours and
reduce the medical and retirement
guarantees.
Keep in mind that as a worker the
only true support will always be
with a true UNION
