A Home School (Home Education)
is a system in which children are taught out
side either the public or
private schools. Either the parent or a
tutor generally
establish the curriculum and instruction. Often
they use local community such as the
library and the
internet to supply the instructional materials.
1. Teaching is very
different than parenting. Your
goal must always be to encourage
your child to think, explore and
annualize information.
2. Don't ever
indoctrinate but encourage them
to think for themselves
3. Teach from love
and understanding of their needs
and feelings.
4. Watch the sites
you use to provide materials and
information. Monitor them for
authenticity, misinformation,
disinformation, fakes and bias.
5. Allow and often
encourage them to challenge and
question any facts, opinions and
information.
6. Have on hand
experts and scholarly articles
to verify and explain any
question or opinion you might
encounter.
7. Your words and
behavior will be important in
how your child treats others and
themselves so take that into
account when you deal with them
as student.
8. Don't depend on
technology exclusively. Give
them hands on activity,
exploratory assignments, field
trips and advice from
professionals.
