Blog Sports

Since my earliest memories sports has always been a part of my life. Having participated in many different types of sports especially as  in  the Junior Olympics in track and field (as a runner), the Olympics in wrestling along with being a wrestling coach. Sports gave me feelings of accomplishment and well being. I enjoyed the many friendships and camaraderie the activity provided.
Sports
Sports has always been a part of human history, whether it was the Olympics in Ancient Greece, the Games in Ancient Rome, the tournament in Medieval Europe or the Kabaddi, Sepaktakraw and the many forms of Marshal Arts in Asia. They were often tributes to gods or goddesses, alternative to war or a form of entertainment. But they always were a form of endurance, body, mind and spirit building.
Today sports, with the advent of huge stadiums, sponsorship, the internet, computers, social media, television, professional sports and even college events, has affected the sports and athletes and has become a major business in both colleges and the field of entertainment, because it can bring in major sources of money and accolades. Professional athletes now get into the sports as a sole source of income in which millions are paid and stardom is a way of life. Sports should be about the love of participating, the building of muscles, the relief of stress and boredom and the establishment of long term camaraderie. Integrity in the game should always be a big part of how the players play, coaches coach and fans take part.  It has become a business with stardom and political attributes with all its issues and shortcomings.
"The integrity of the game is everything."  Peter Ueberroh
