Pay
Teachers
should be
paid
well, given better
training
and recognition for all they do. School
funding needs
to reflect the teacher's personal and professional
needs. Often they are the forgotten heroes in our
society. If we gave them half the financial rewards,
publicity and recognition we give our athletes and
actors, more children would strive to be a teacher.

We face a growing problem of
lack of teachers in our school. Many are
leaving do to poor pay and fringe benefit. A
teacher should never have to work other jobs
to house and feed their families. Salaries
reflect the trust nd importance in any job.
Pay them well and the school system will get
the best and the brightest. The
