Ocean:
a large body of salt water that separates the continents. They are the
Atlantic, Pacific, Indian and Arctic. National Geographic just added the
water around Antarctica as an Ocean, they call it Southern Ocean

Waterways: any body of water, either fresh or salt,
that can be used for irrigation, power, water, transportation and
recreation.
One of our most vital resources are our oceans and
waterways! Due to pollution (such as plastic, sewage,
agricultural runoffs, industrial discharges, oil spills and
leaks, overfishing,
abandoned lost fishing nets, traps) It is believed by many
scientist that all life on the Earth has as their
foundations (if not it beginnings) in our oceans. It not
only supplies us with oxygen, it also is a major source of
fuel, food, transportation and national defence.Our changing weather pattern are a direct result of
what is going on in our oceans and waterways. Some of the
disruptions are: Floods, Droughts, Wildlife Entanglement,
Plastic Ingestion, Habitat Destruction, Dead Zones, Ocean
Acidification, Toxic Accumulation, Contaminated Seafood, and
finally Waterborne Diseases.
We as citizens must demand that businesses, governments and
individuals, encourage action such as passing laws,
regulations and policies that preserve and restore our water
supplies before the damage that is being done gets any
worst.
