 Much of colonial American culture reflected the
Russian, Spanish, French, Dutch, and English
countries of origin. Contrary to what some believe
colonial culture was varied in many ways. Some areas
were devoted to trade and industry while others were
devoted to agriculture and resources. Religions
varied from one reason to another. Languages and
dialects also varied as did traditions and cultural
