Parent's Roles |
Parent:
an individual or combination of individuals who are
responsible for protecting, educating, disciplining and
raising a child.
A good parent is one who loves his or
her children unconditionally. They must be willing to
protect and to encourage them. The best practice for any
parent is to be the parent not their friend. |
|
|
They must be fair, consistent and dedicated to
what their children will be like as they grow up and
what they will become. As to computers and smart phones,
limit and monitor their use. |
|
Enforcement must be consistent, fair and equally
applied by both parents. Never should punishment be
corporal, mental or excessive. Avoid the game where the
child plays one parent on the other. |

As
an Education Supporter |
Sometimes the curriculum can
be overwhelming. Your role needs to be
one of support and guidance. If your
child is having homework or school
difficulty talk to him or her and
ascertain the causes and work towards
mitigating the issue (such as parental
conferences). If he or she is having
issues with homework,
don't under any circumstances do it for
them, but help them find the answers.
