The Classroom

Middle Teacher Resources

TeachersMiddle School: The transition years (6th, 7th and 8th grades) between Primary School and High School. At one time this period was called Junior High School which covered 7th, 8th and 9th grades. Its stated purpose is to prepare the student for High School.
From our earliest time humans have always had teachers. The parent was the primary teacher who taught the basics of the tribe, while other tribal members taught the history, traditions, culture, religion, values and mores of their society. Today our complex society has specialized  trained and licensed teachers who, using lectures, lesson plans, worksheets, tests and pedagogy, are paid to instill a foundation for a successful future and a love of learning .
