Welcome to My Blog! The educational opinions below are the result of my professional experiences as a:35 years as a teacher, benefits administrator, historian, webmaster, teacher's union vice president and president, parent and grandparent. Education is a vital part of any society. It will and should provide future generations the ability to think make rational, accurate and constructive solutions to situations now starting to develop and will expand and grow as time goes by. Schools need to be supported and financed and teachers must be well paid, supported and provided with tools that will enable them to do their jobs. It should never be given to corporate or private institutions and should always remain in the hands of the public!
"Education is the transmission of knowledge and skills and the development of character traits. Formal education happens in a complex institutional framework, like public schools. Non-formal education is also structured but occurs outside the formal schooling system, while informal education is unstructured learning through daily experiences. Formal and non-formal education are divided into levels that include early childhood education, primary education, secondary education, and tertiary education. Other classifications focus on the teaching method, like teacher-centered and student-centered education, and on the subject, like science education, language education, and physical education. The term "education" can also refer to the mental states and qualities of educated people and the academic field studying educational phenomena." Source Wikipedia
